Pacers beat Cavaliers in Game 1; Warriors advance to semifinals after defeating Rockets

The Indiana Pacers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers with a score of 121-112 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Rocket Arena on Sunday, to take an early 1-0 series lead.

Leading the Pacers was Andrew Nembhard with 23 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range, while Tyrese Haliburton had 22 points and 13 assists. For the Cavs, Donovan Mitchell scored 33 points — marking Mitchell’s eighth straight Game 1 with 30 points or more. That achievement breaks a tie with Michael Jordan, who had two separate streaks of seven consecutive Game 1 outings with 30-plus points.

Game 2 of the series is on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in Cleveland.

The Golden State Warriors are advancing to the Western Conference semifinals after beating the Houston Rockets 103-89 in Game 7 on Sunday night.

Stephen Curry scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, with Buddy Hield making nine 3-pointers and scored 33 points, Jimmy Butler adding 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and Draymond Green scoring 16 points for the Warriors.

The Warriors will face the Timberwolves Tuesday night in Minnesota.
